1. All citizens of India who are 18 years of age as on 1st January of the year for which the voting is prepared are entitled to be registered as a voter in the constituency where he or she ordinarily resides.
2. Only persons who are of unsound mind and have been declared so by a competent court or disqualified due to ‘Corrupt Practices or offences relating to elections are not entitled to be registered in the voting.

If you are a student staying in a hostel, then you can submit a Student Declaration Form signed by your College Principal/Dean/Registrar.If you have just turned 18, then you also have to submit a proof of age.
Age proof include (any one)

1. Birth Certificate
2. Passport
3. PAN Card
4. Driving Licence
5. Board Exam Certificate
6. Passport size photographs

1. Depending on your area of residence, you will have to submit the form along with the documents to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the Assembly Constituency where your residence is situated in.
2. Remember to collect the Receipt duly signed by the ERO With this; you can register to be a voter.
