   Hi Ashvin,

   I think this is a wonderful idea! Having a local website for Surat has been a long burning dream. It is nice to see such a great effort on your part to have this up and running!

   I would like to have some suggestions for the site which could be really useful and may attract more Surtis to your site:

   1. Have more events in the “Events” section. Even if there isn’t one in the near future, still it is better to have atleast a few listed in there. Normally, Gujarat Samachar and other local dailies would be a good source.
   2. Have feeds to all sections of the site (including the news section). It is easier to get updates to the site this way
   3. Please also have local/State/National news on the site also in English and please provide feeds to this too.
   4. In local news, you can also run sponsored event to generate more revenue. I think people would be interested to know if there is a sale going on somewhere
   5. The best way I think to support the website would be to provide local cinema listings and have offers with the cinema operators through your site or a coupon or other such criteria.

   Will update if I have more suggestions for the site. I am myself a network engineer working in chennai, but hail originally from Surat.

   Thank you for all sweet words and appreciation regarding oursurat.com and also about your feedback/suggestions. Let me go one by one for your suggestions:

   1. Events – We are trying to reduce human activities to maintain content of the website. Cost is currently important factor to run the website. But we are doing tie-up with surat local news channels to get frequent updates about the events.
   2. Feeds – Surely, that would be the nice feature. Infact, We are planning for daily newsletters where you will get a single email in morning with all important content like news etc., in your inbox.
   3. English edition of News – We will do this but currently not that much priority.
   4. Sponsored Events – Thats already in the list but little bit later.
   5. Movies – So far, that was not in list, I am adding it and we will try to have it very soon on the homepage too.
